School-Based Health Center

A school-based health centers (SBHC) is like having a doctor's office in your school or on school grounds. With a SBHC, students don't have to leave school to see a doctor, and parents don't have to leave work to take them. SBHC's work to improve the health of students, increase access to health care, and decrease time lost from school by providing health care in the school. If you have a family doctor, you can still use the SBHC. This service is not meant to replace your family doctor, it is meant to compliment the services your family doctor provides and to help students who do not have a family doctor. No child is treated without parental consent.

Students signed up can receive medical services including sick visits, physicals, sports physicals ($15), vaccines, Tylenol, Motrin, and cough drops.

The SBHC at the Academy of Careers and Technology is open on Tuesdays from 1:00 - 4:30 PM and Fridays from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
